Chelsea will try again for Real Madrid's Makelele

Chelsea will move again for Real Madrid midfielder Claude Makelele next week.

Sources close to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich have told Marca that declarations last week that the Londoners were not interested in Makelele were designed to cool the situation.

However, Abramovich has super-agent Pini Zahavi on the case and Chelsea insiders are confident Makelele will be their player by the end of the week.

Chelsea will move for Makelele after he turns out for France - another sore point for Real given the player's absence from training.
