Chelsea to make mega £50M Beckham bid to Real Madrid

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to offer Real Madrid over double what they paid Manchester United for David Beckham.

The Sunday Express says Abramovich is determined to explore every avenue to bring the England captain to Stamford Bridge and is ready to bid £50 million for the midfielder.

Beckham had a hand in Real's winner in yesterday's 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid, but was rarely sighted in a subdued performance which was again criticised by the Spanish press today.
