Chelsea target Makelele: My attitude is always exemplary at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Claude Makelele has defended his behavior over the past week.

"I will return to Real Madrid tomorrow and begin training. I am feeling much better now that I have been with the French squad," Makelele told L'Equipe.

"My absence from Real training was because of health reasons. It had nothing to do with a ploy to get them to sell me."

"I believe that I have always demonstrated an exemplary attitude when with Real Madrid."

He added, "The leaders of Real Madrid are studying offers from other clubs. But for now I am a Real Madrid player."
