Chelsea’s Eden Hazard set for summer move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid could move to sign Eden Hazard next June, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

In an article following up Hazard’s liking an Instagram post linking him with a move to the Bernabeu, it is claimed that the 24-year-old see his future away from Stamford Bridge.

A perceived lack of ambition at the club, even before the recent cooling of his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho, is cited as a reason for the Belgium international’s desire to move on.

The report claims he is now keen to make a summer switch to Madrid, where he would apparently inherit Cristiano Ronaldo’s left wing berth.

Ronaldo will celebrate his 31st birthday in February, so the Bernabeu hierarchy are keeping tabs on how long he can maintain his sensational performance levels of recent years.

Hazard is reportedly particular keen to make the move, while the article points out that the extent of Madrid’s interest will become apparent when the transfer window opens at the end of the season.
