Chelsea’s Anelka tells Real Madrid: Benzema will come good

Chelsea ace Nicolas Anelka has offered support to Karim Benzema over his struggles at Real Madrid.

Anelka won the Champions League with Real in his one and only season in Madrid and admits he never truly settled at the Spanish giants.

"He is a young man who needs time, like everyone else. He has to keep working and doing what he knows," said Anelka.

"Madrid has to give him time and the opportunity to grow. It's only been six months and he's started very well. When I was in Madrid I did not play enough. It is never easy to handle that situation and show your best game."

Anelka added: "He has to keep working and stay calm. If he continues with his head up it is very likely that next season we will see the best Benzema."
