Chelsea owner wants Real Madrid's Beckham

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has admitted he'd be interested in Real Madrid star David Beckham if he became available.

Manchester United turned down the option of having first refusal on the England skipper during negotiations with Real at the end of last season.

Abramovich said: "I have never met him but if he ever considers the possibility of returning to England if he doesn't make it in Spain ... I like him."

The Russian billionaire also revealed a 10 year-old fan's suggestion was being put into practice by his advisors.

Abramovich said: "He described the situation in the team perfectly and three of the five suggestions for new players we were already thinking about."

"I couldn't even write at that age."
