Chelsea owner Abramovich threatens Real Madrid's Robinho deal

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is threatening Real Madrid's deal for Santos superkid Robinho.

The Brazil international winger is expected to join Real once his mother is delivered safely from kidnappers. Police are in advanced negotiations with her captors and they're confident of a positive outcome before the end of next week.

Robinho is close pals with Ronaldo and has declared he'd love to play for Real Madrid. But Abramovich is also keen, with the local press suggesting he wants to beat his European rivals and make a major splash on the South American market by landing Robinho.

AS says Abramovich doesn't care that Robinho has verbally agreed a deal with Real and even if he cannot persuade the youngster to move to London, will take delight in driving up Santos' asking price for Madrid president Florentino Perez.
