Chelsea join interest for Real Madrid's Morientes

Chelsea have joined the race for Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes.

Liverpool and Juventus are both keen for the Spanish international, while Chelsea have entered the reckoning after Adrian Mutu's drug shame.

But Morientes says if he is to leave Real in the winter market his first option would be AS Monaco: "It's nice to see my name mentioned with such clubs but Monaco is my first choice."
