Chelsea Have Been In Contact - Carlos

Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos has claimed Chelsea have been in contract with his agent, but he isn't interested in leaving the Bernabeu.

However, he has revealed the Spanish giants are yet to offer him the new contract he desires in order to stay in Madrid.

The 31-year-old told Onda Cero radio station: "I have not spoken directly with anybody but people from Chelsea spoke to my lawyers."

He added: "I'm happy here and people know that."

"My aim is to keep playing until I am 38 and I want to spend five of those in Madrid and then the last two in Brazil with Santos."

However, the Brazilian, who is out of contract at the end of next season, added: "I want a four-year contract."

"The club have given me two options but I want to hold out for four years."

"I want to speak to (Jorge) Valdano and the president (Florentino Perez) next week and sort out my future before going on holiday."

"If they do not offer me what I want I would have a free transfer in 2005."

"Let's see what happens but I am optimistic that we can resolve the situation."
