Chelsea go for Real Madrid outcast Drenthe

Chelsea are ready to make an offer for Real Madrid wing-back Royston Drenthe.

The Holland U21 star has failed to make an impact at Real since his summer move from Feyenoord and is expected to be made available for the January.

Frank Arnesen and Piet de Visser remain big fans of Drenthe and are keen to bring him to Chelsea. A bid of £8 million for Drenthe has been mooted for the winter market.
