Chelsea deal done for Real Madrid's Makelele

Chelsea will tomorrow unveil Claude Makelele as their 11th high-profile signing at Stamford Bridge in 46 days.

The French international trained with Real Madrid yesterday, however all details over the transfer have been finalised - apart from the player's actual fee.

"The deal has been agreed," a well-placed Chelsea source told the Telegraph last night. "The paperwork will be done in time to beat the deadline."
