Chelsea can outbid Real Madrid for Joaquin

Chelsea haven't given up on prising Joaquin away from Real Betis.

Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera knows he is likely to lose the Spanish wing ace in the summer and has already sent out feelers for Newcastle United bad boy Laurent Robert as a replacement.

Joaquin favours a move to Real Madrid over Chelsea, but it's only the Londoners which are willing to match Lopera's £20 million asking price.

The Betis supremo wants to use the cash to rebuild his squad, particularly if they can qualify for the Champions League this season.
