Chelsea boss Mourinho blocked Beckham deal

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has blocked chief executive Peter Kenyon from signing Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham.
 
The Daily Mail says Kenyon told Roman Abramovich they should recruit the England captain this summer as part of his ongoing strategy to turn Chelsea into a worldwide brand.

The Russian owner responded by telling Kenyon that he would go along with the plan - as long as Mourinho approved it. Mourinho is understood to have confronted Kenyon over the proposal, reminding him that all the impetus for buying and selling players must come from him.
