Chelsea, Arsenal linked with Real Madrid's Morientes

Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with Real Madrid centre-forward Fernando Morientes.

The Spanish international is expected to be offloaded over the summer and is also interesting Valencia.

Morientes almost moved to London and Tottenham last August and remains highly-rated in Premiership circles.

It's been suggested that Chelsea's qualification for next season's Champions League has afforded manger Claudio Ranieri some extra spending money to target Morientes.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager is looking for a target-man to partner Thierry Henry and is eyeing Morientes along with Valencia centre-forward John Carew.
