Chelsea alerted as Real Madrid candidate wants Beckham sale

Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Sobrino will listen to offers for David Beckham if he wins this year's election.

Sobrino says the off-field scandals engulfing Beckham are also hurting Real's worldwide image and said: "He's causing problems. If I become president I would listen to offers for David Beckham. The scandal has been very damaging to the club."

He also told The Sun, "We want our players to be stars for footballing reasons only."

"All this stuff about Beckham has caused a bad atmosphere at Real Madrid."

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is believed to have already held talks about a summer move for the England skipper.
