Championship Not Over - Queiroz

Real Madrid moved eight points clear at the top of La Liga with yesterday's 4-2 win over Celta Vigo, but coach Carlos Queiroz insists the championship is not yet won.

"This encounter was crucial for us, but despite having eight points on Valencia there is nothing finalised," he said.

"We have ahead, in a period of very short time, very complicated games against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Deportivo. A defeat can complicate your life, although the gap is comfortable.

"We did not start the game well. The defence was too far from the attack, the team was loose and we lost a lot of possession. In the second-half we regained our confidence and the players, individually, stepped up a gear."
