Injury news and probable teams for Tuesday's Champions League matches in Group E:

MANCHESTER UNITED v RANGERS

Captain Roy Keane returns to the starting line-up after being rested for United's last three games, though he scored as a late substitute in Saturday's 3-0 league win over Portsmouth.

Keane will be joined in central midfield by Phil Neville, who was rested in preparation for Tuesday's game after scoring United's goal in their 1-0 win at Ibrox a fortnight ago.

Defender Mikael Silvestre should return and Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan is expected to start after scoring in each of his last three games. Paul Scholes, Wes Brown and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are still out through injury, but Brazilian midfielder Kleberson returns to the squad.

Rangers are missing several key men due to injury. Dutch defender Fernando Ricksen damaged an ankle in Saturday's 3-1 league win over Partick Thistle while midfielder Christian Nerlinger is out after tearing a calf muscle in the same match.

Ronald de Boer, Steven Thompson and Robert Malcolm are long-term casualties but manager Alex McLeish reckons his side can trouble the English champions. "We'll have to change things around, but don't think for a minute that any of the players who'll be travelling to Manchester will be going with fear," he said. "Every single player wants to get on that Old Trafford pitch and show what they can do."

Greece defender Takis Fyssas is due back after injury for Panathinaikos, relegating German full back Markus Munch to the bench, but Emmanuel Olisadebe (knee) and Sotiris Kyrgiakos (knee) are still long-term injury absentees.

Romanian midfielder Lucian Sanmartean could make his first Champions League start after playing 30 minutes of Saturday's 0-0 draw against Halkidona.

Stuttgart warmed up for their trip to Athens by beating SC Freiburg 4-1 on Saturday to return to the top of the Bundesliga and extend their unbeaten run to 11 league games.

"Our chances of getting at least a point are looking good," said coach Felix Magath, whose team beat Panathinaikos 2-0 in Stuttgart in their previous Champions League outing.

Magath will be without Brazilian central defender Marcelo Bordon, due for groin surgery on Monday that will rule him out for the rest of the year. He should be replaced by Timo Wenzel.
