César dealt injury blow

Real's number two keeper César Sánchez will miss the last two games of the year after sustaining an ankle injury in training at the weekend.

The 30-year-old former Valladolid goalie was taking part in a mini-practice match with the non-regular players when he damaged his right ankle and possibly his shinbone.

But club medics are to wait until later today for inflammation around the area to subside before running new probes.

César will definitely be ruled out for the last two games of 2001 - tomorrow's Copa del Rey tie against Gimnástic and next weekend's league game at Mallorca.
