César close to Benfica move

Real Madrid central defender Júlio César's transfer to Benfica's Estádio da Luz should be finally completed tomorrow.

The two clubs have already agreed to the switch and all that remains is for the Portuguese outfit to arrange personal terms and convince the player to sign for a year on loan.

Portuguese FIFA agent José Veiga will go to Madrid tomorrow in order to finalise the deal with Júlio César.

The player is then expected to travel to Switzerland this week to begin training with his new team-mates.
