Celta Vigo turns to Antic after Del Bosque snub

Celta Vigo have turned to former Barcelona and Real Madrid coach Raddy Antic to replace the sacked Miguel Angel Lotina.

Antic was locked in talks with Celta officials yesterday about succeeding Lotina, who was dismissed on Monday.

Celta turned to Antic after receiving little encouragement from ex-Real Madrid trainer Vicente del Bosque. Former Barcelona coach Lorenz Serra Ferrer and ex-Alaves trainer Mane have also been sounded out.

A Celta spokesman said yesterday: "The replacement for Lotina is on a five-man list of names that have appeared over the last few days."

"He will be Spanish or someone who knows the Liga in-depth. The president has set economic standards that we are going to try to fulfill."
