Cassano dedicates Real Madrid goal to Di Stefano

Antonio Cassano has dedicated his first goal for Real Madrid to the club's honourary president Alfredo Di Stefano.
 
As Di Stefano recovers from his surgery, Cassano was quick to say after hitting the winner at Real Betis: "I dedicate my goal to Di Stefano. I hope he gets well soon."

Cassano was fulfilling a promise he made at his first media conference following his arrival from Roma. The Italian promised at the time: "When I score my first goal in a Real Madrid shirt, in my mind will be Alfredo Di Stefano."

Di Stefano is now back home recuperating after being released from hospital yesterday. He will be informed of Cassano's dedication later in the afternoon.
