Casillas to sign new deal

Real Madrid's goalkeeping sensation Iker Casillas is expected to sign a new deal with the Merengues in the next two weeks.

The 20-year-old keeper is currently tied to Real until 2003, but the new deal would see him extend his stay for another three years.

Casillas is one of the lowest paid stars in the Real Madrid squad but when he pens the new contract, his salary will gradually increase to draw him level with his team-mates.

The young star will start on a basic salary of $US 1.6m and by the end of 2006, he will be taking home around $US 2.8m.

On top of that, he will receive an additional $US 633,000 should he complete more than 80 games during the next two seasons.
