Casillas stars as Madrid beats Bayern in shootout

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas stopped two penalty kicks, leading Real Madrid past Bayern Munich 4-2 in a shootout to win the Franz Beckenbauer Cup.

Hamit Altintop and Edson Braafheid missed their shots after Friday’s game ended in a 0-0 draw in regulation.

The exhibition was an official farewell game for Beckenbauer, the German soccer great who never received a proper sendoff when he left Bayern for the Cosmos 33 years ago.
