Casillas: Impossible For Madrid To Beat Barcelona 3-0

The last time someone at Real Madrid put the words “impossible” and “Barcelona ” together in the same sentence, he was promptly sent packing.

Former Blancos coach, Bernd Schuster was dismissed from the Bernabeu bench after claiming it was not possible to win at Barcelona in the corresponding El Clasico battle earlier in the season, eventhough the German later claimed his declaration had nothing to do with his sacking.

Now, goalkeeper Iker Casillas has come out and said that it will be near impossible for his side to beat the Blaugrana by more than two goals in order to tilt the head-to-head advantage their way should both teams end the season leveled on points.

“Right until now, we have responded well and we have done incredible things, but it will not mean anything if we do not continue our run,” he told Tele 5 during an interview.

“We must be cautious. We have not achieved anything yet and the fans cannot get carried away because if we lose on Saturday, we will wave goodbye to our title dreams."

“To beat Barcelona 3-0 is impossible… or to be more exact, very difficult,” he swiftly corrected himself.

“And even if we beat them, we will still be one point behind.”

The Blaugrana currently lead the Merengues by four points with an edge in the head-to-head decider following their 2-0 win at the Camp Nou last December.
