Casillas: I Hope Real Sociedad Win Promotion

Iker Casillas was pleased that Real Madrid recorded another victory at the weekend as they beat Real Sociedad, but hopes that the Basque Country team can have a good season.

Los Merengues' goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win in Anoeta on Saturday evening as Karim Benzema and Wesley Sneijder both scored.

But while Madrid celebrated another morale-boosting result, Casillas looked ahead to la Real's campaign as they try to return to the top flight.

"I liked Real Sociedad a lot as they are a great team and they are will be trying to reach the first division next year," he was quoted as saying by Madrid's official website. "I hope they do."

Casillas was also pleased that Madrid are continuing to build well for the season, despite seeing disruptions such as the midweek internationals interfere with the preparations.

"Many people were missing from the team this week. We hardly had time to prepare for the match, but we won," he continued.

"We've scored many goals lately, but we must also find balance in defence. We are beginning to get that and there's a lot of time left before the season begins."
