Casillas delighted with Real Madrid contract talks

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas is delighted his agent has opened talks with the club over a new deal.

Casillas is now inside the final 18 months of his present deal and has been linked with Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.

But the Spanish international declared: "I am very happy and now what I have to do is to be calm. My responsibility is to work hard, to train and to play football."

"I must be focused on my function and leave my contract to my agent. But I can assure everyone that I am very happy because I am a Madridista."

"I have been here since I was eight years old and am as much a Madridista as Di Stéfano."

"Nothing would please me more than to play out my entire career with Real Madrid."
