Casillas answer today over Real Madrid deal

Real Madrid supporter groups are gathering forces to urge president Florentino Perez to sign goalkeeper Iker Casillas to a new contract.
 
Banners could be displayed and protests made for Real Madrid's clash with Getafe in support of Casillas, who has admitted there is now only a "60 per cent" chance of him staying with the club beyond this season.

Perez could make a decision this week about Casillas' contract, with the Spanish international's current deal expiring in the summer.

The president already has spoken with Ginés Carvajal, Casillas' agent, and made an offer worth £4.2 million - plus another £1.2 million based on appearances and success.

Perez wants an answer from the goalkeeper by today - but Casillas is said to be disappointed with the offer as he believes he deserves £6 million-a-year - which is still well below the top earners at Real.

Barcelona and Manchester Unietd are among clubs monitoring the situation.
