Carlos Espi scores five goals for Spain U21

He also handed out two assists vs San Marino.

After coming off the bench in Spain U-21’s last game in the loss to Finland, Carlos Espi was put in the starting line-up ahead of Gonzalo Garcia against San Marino today.
It was, as expected, a complete bloodbath. Spain won 13-0, and Espi scored five goals while handing out two assists.
These are the games that feel even less difficult than actual training exercises, and one of those games where San Marino’s players looked like they were ready for the final whistle right at kick off. Spain had 80% possession, shot the ball 48 times, created 10 big chances, scored 13, and had over 500 passes more than their opponents.
Former Real Madrid academy product Jacobo Ramon also scored in the demolition, while Iker Bravo had two assists and five key passes.
Spain U-21 have one more game remaining during this international break: a game against Romania next Tuesday. A win in that game will guarantee them top spot in Group A UEFA EURO U-21 qualification.
