Capello caught giving Real Madrid fans the finger

Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello was caught on television delivering a one-finger salute to fans after their 1-0 victory over Real Zaragoza yesterday.

Capello's gesture was also captured by local photographers and the Italian later was forced to explain his actions: "Firstly, I want to offer my apology to anyone who saw that."

"From the first day, there has been two fans who have been offensive towards me and today it became totally excessive and over the top. As a coach of Madrid, I know I should not have done it and I ask fans to forgive me."

Real president Ramon Calderon also said: "Fabio is under enormous pressure and has recognised his error. He is fine."
