Caparros exit opens Real Madrid door to Seville's Ramos

Real Madrid are a step closer to landing Seville defender Sergio Ramos following the resignation of coach Joaquin Caparros last week.
 
Its understood Caparros was insisting Seville not sell Ramos before his dramatic exit on Friday, fueling speculation the Spain international will leave the club during the summer.

Seville president Jose Maria del Nido has been holding out for Ramos' £18 million buyout clause. However, its now understood he could accept a bid of £14 million following Seville's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Real are outright favourites for Ramos, who was scouted regularly in the closing weeks of the season by Madrid general manager Arrigo Sacchi.
