Cambiasso set for Argentine loan

Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Cambiasso could end up spending next season on loan at Argentine giants River Plate.

Real directors have changed their mind about selling the 20-year-old ace and feel that another year on loan will be enough for him to develop further and return to the Bernabeu next summer.

The Merengues are even talking about extending Cambiasso's contract for another two years until 2005.

When 'Cuchu' has signed that new deal then Real will be willing to let the player go to River Plate on a season-long loan deal for a small fee.

This news will come as a blow to foreign clubs Bayern Munich and Celta Vigo who had expressed an interest in signing him.

Meanwhile, Edwin Congo could join Cambiasso in the Argentinian league, after an 'important Argentine club' have reportedly made an offer for the Columbian striker.
