New Real Madrid manager Jose Antoniio Camacho has gone on the record as saying that he would like FC Porto's Ricardo Carvalho on his team.
New Real Madrid manager Jose Antoniio Camacho has gone on the record as saying that he would like FC Porto's Ricardo Carvalho on his team.
Carvalho, is regarded by many as one of the best central defenders in Europe at the moment, was linked with Madrid in December but Porto were unwilling to part with him at that time.
However, with the emergence of promising centeral defender Ricardo Costa and the return of Ricardo Silva's loan from Boavista, there is now a surplus of quality center backs (and Ricardo's) at Porto.
It is unlikely that FC Porto will keep so many capable defenders on their bench next season and now may be the ideal time for them to offload Carvalho.
"Ricardo Carvalho would fit in nicely at Madrid, and players of his quality are always of interest to Europe's top clubs," said Camacho.
