Camacho lays down law to Real Madrid galacticos

New Real Madrid coach Jose Antonio Camacho intends to lay down the law to his squad of galacticos next season.

In wide-ranging interview with AS Camacho warned: "If I am unhappy with a player, then I will not select him."

He admitted that last season's Real squad lacked experience: "To face the season with confidence we need 20 players, goalkeepers aside.

"We cannot allow the absence of a single player to unbalance the entire team, which happened on some occasions this season."

On future signings, Camacho said: "Its important we bring players here who are motivated. Eto'o is interesting, but we would have to pay for him."

"And in the case of Robert Carlos it is important to study that the player only has a year left of his contract and that, if not renewed, could go away next season without the club receiving any money."

"Xabi Alonso I like, but the negotiations are very much complicated."

On Real's celebrated youth system, Camacho again warned: "The young players coming through must want to batter down the door to the first team."

"We're not going to make it easy for them. They can keep knocking, but that won't get them in. They must be willing to fight and smash the door down to get into this team."
