Calderon Praises Squad, Touches On Cesc Move

Ramon Calderon is full of confidence ahead of the latter half of the season, believing that a treble is eminently possible.

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has promised his troops a bonus if they land the Liga, Champions League, and Copa del Rey.

He told As, "The start of the season has been very good."

"We're in a unique and enviable position, but it's far from being over."

"I think that this team can win everything, and I've offered the players a bonus if they complete the treble."

"Coach Schuster is the right man who will be here for many years. He's the [Alex] Ferguson of Madrid."

Other members of staff winning the prez's praises are Raul and Pepe.

"Raul is a point of reference for this club and must remain so," insisted Calderon.

"My goal when I became president was to keep him as the reference point, and retain for him the captaincy that others wanted removed."

"Pepe? He is an exceptional player who is beginning to remind us of Hierro."

"And we'll renew Van Nistelrooy's deal. No question. This year he'll share the Pichichi [top scorer's award] with Raul."

"This is a great squad and it might not be necessary to rebuild next year."

Finally, he touched onsome transfer speculation.

"We can't feed rumours [of Kaka] and we don't know if it's possible," he stated.

"Cesc? He'd be great for Madrid. But we must wait and see."
