Calderón: New Madrid Signings In 'Eight Or Ten Days'

Real Madrid might have signed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar but they aren't stopping there, as the president, Ramón Calderón, announced today there will be new signings in eight or ten days.

Christmas looks like it will be bearing gifts aplenty for Real Madrid, with Ramón Calderón declaring today that the club will be making new signings soon.

The president said that in eight or ten days time there would be 'good news' regarding signings and then went on to talk more about the issue.

"Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has already arrived, a Dutch international, and he will help a lot," he told La Sexta.

"We are working to find reinforcements, I do not intervene, that is the work of Pedja Mijatovic. Pedja is seeking solutions."

Real Madrid are in the unfortunate situation of having a number of serious injuries and Calderón was at a loss to explain the situation, saying, "I do not remember anything like this, where three players who started the season are out for the rest of it, Rubén de la Red, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Mahamadou Diarra."

Naturally the president also spoke about the new coach, Juande Ramos, and he sounded optimistic about the future.

"He will return the happiness to the fans of Madrid. He has a contract of six months, but I am convinced that it will be extended," he declared.

Before he focuses on anything though Calderón will have to worry about the clash with Barcelona in the Camp Nou this weekend, even though he tried to take the importance away from it today.

"What is important is that it is a good spectacle, that the people enjoy it and that it is a decent match," he mused.

"I expect that it will be an exciting derby and that there will be correct behaviour, I have always felt at home there."
