Calderón Accused In Madrid Seat Scandal

Ramón Calderón's quest to be reinstated as president of Real Madrid has taken a huge blow after it was revealed that he allegedly allowed friends and family to jump the the queue for seats at the Bernabéu.

Los Merengues' chief vowed to be scrupulous when it came to the huge waiting list to be a club member with a seat, but COPE Radio have revealed that he has done exactly the opposite.

With a waiting list of around 8,000 for the treasured lifelong cards at Madrid, Calderón and his board are believed to have let up to 3,000 people jump in front in a bid to win votes.

The presidential elections are coming up next summer and the current incumbent knows that his opponents will have already have plenty of ammunition to aim at him during a troubled first four years in charge.

With the seats at Madrid being so highly sought after the issue carries some weight with the fans, with many have waited a decade or more, to be given the ticket that ensures them of a season ticket every years for life.

At Madrid's last Annual Assembly, Calderón told members: "It is false that we have not respected the waiting list and have given favours to people."

"It is completely untrue. Only people with an interest in harming us would use that information in the way that it is being used."

Critics will now be out to see what the president says after COPE have the names and addresses of hundreds of people not on the waiting list that have recently been given seats.
