Butragueno admits speaking with Platini about Real Madrid sniping

Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno admits he's spoken with UEFA president Michel Platini about his criticism of their summer spending.

"I drew attention to his statements about spending on new players as we did. I talked to him during the draw for the Champions League and he explained that in any case he had not wanted to criticize Real Madrid," said Butragueno.

"Our relationship with UEFA is very good, although I do not know if there is a special interest in saying that there is a mismatch (with other clubs due to Real's spending)."
