Butragueno admits Real Madrid considering Pepe replacement signing

Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno admits there's discussion within the club about signing a replacement for Pepe.

The Portugal defender is out for the season after suffering a knee injury in victory at Valencia on Saturday.

Butragueno said: "The club is studying the market, but we will not buy at random, we will not buy just for the sake of it."

"The absence of Pepe is serious and it will be difficult to find a replacement in January. The big players all have a team, and we are Real Madrid, so we are able to compensate for his absence with the players that we already have."
