Buffon on Real Madrid: I'm happy at Juventus

Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has dismissed fresh speculation of a move to Real Madrid.

He said: "My future is at Juventus. Right now there would be no reason for me to leave, especially as nobody would take me in this condition!"
 
The shot-stopper has been out injured since August after an accidental clash with Milan man Kaka damaged shoulder ligaments.

His comeback in the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina was brief and he suffered another foot problem to rule him out until after the Christmas break.

"In any case, I am happy with the way Abbiati has replaced me at Juve and, thanks to his form, nobody has noticed my absence. I am ready to return and my shoulder injury has fully healed, but this toe problem has now flared up."

Buffon's long lay-off has raised fears over his readiness for the World Cup in June, but he believes the Juventus duo can dominate the Azzurri set-up as well.

"I hope that Abbiati will stay in Turin next season and that he can come with me to Germany with the Italy squad in the summer," he smiled. "The team is doing brilliantly in Serie A and we didn't expect to have so many points at this stage. There's a long way to go and our opponents will not give in, but I think Inter are the most dangerous rivals for the Scudetto."
