Brazilian stars Lucio, Luizao on Real Madrid list

Real Madrid chiefs have met to discuss strengthening Vicente del Bosque's defence next season.

Sports chief Jorge Valdano and president Florentino Perez met on Monday to talk about Bayer Leverkusen defender Lucio.

The Brazilian international is keen to join Real and the Spanish giants know they can land him for nothing if Bayer are relegated this season.

Also in Real's sights is Cruzeiro centre-half Luizao, who is currently a regular with the World Cup winners.

Luizao is regarded as Brazil's best young defender and at 22 is an attractive prospect for Real's technical team.
