Brazil's Robinho downplays impact

Robinho insisted Brazil is not a one-man team after the striker notched his fourth goal of the tournament in the 1-0 Copa America victory over Ecuador on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old's penalty 10 minutes into the second-half sealed Brazil's passage into the last eight from Group B, where they will meet Chile, and came hot on the heels of his impressive hat-trick last time out against their quarterfinal opponents.

"I will try to continue playing well for the team. But we are a team not just Robinho," he said. "Brazil have brilliant players and can play much better. We have a lot of individual talent but also we have a team spirit. We need to improve but we are in the quarterfinals."

"I'm only thinking about winning the tournament but if I can be the top scorer, that would make it even better."

Coach Dunga also paid tribute to the Real Madrid star and praised his team's perseverance in overcoming the dogged Ecuadorians despite not producing a vintage performance.

"Robinho is a great player with fantastic individual skill but he also created a lot of chances for his teammates. That's important," Dunga said.

"The team showed plenty of determination and I am satisfied with that. Qualification was difficult but we managed it."

Defender Juan felt Brazil need to show more composure as the tournament progresses.

"We didn't play well, everybody knows that," Juan said. "We weren't patient enough, we were to hurried with our final touch. With more composure, we can improve our performance."
