Brazil legend Ronaldo becomes advisor to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez

Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario has been named advisor to president Florentino Pérez and global ambassador for the Spanish club.

Marca newspaper have confirmed that the Brazilian legend will be representing Los Blancos around the globe and will be advising Pérez, who signed him from Inter Milan in 2002.

Ronaldo was part of the “Galacticos” era, as by that time Real Madrid were signing a big star every summer, including Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham. The same source revealed that Perez is keen on handing similar roles to other players of that generation.

The Brazilian won the Ballon d’Or twice in his career: in 1997 and in 2002. Despite being a Madrid legend, he represented Barcelona earlier in his career where he scored 47 goals in a single season for the Catalan club, when the late great Sir Bobby Robson was in charge at the Camp Nou.
