Bordeaux's Mavuba welcomes Real Madrid rumours

Bordeaux midfielder Rio Mavuba admits he is surprised to be linked with Real Madrid.

The 20 year-old French international is being considered by Real GM Arrigo Sacchi for the winter market and is ahead of Benoit Pedretti (Marseille) and Thomas Gravesen (Everton) on his shortlist of midfield targets.

"It is incredible, but I would not have any fear going there," insisted Mavuba.

The youngster has been likened to Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira and along with Real Madrid, is also being tracked by Manchester United and the Gunners.
