Bolton Want Campo But Cannot Afford Salary

Bolton's hopes of signing Real Madrid defender Ivan Campo look dead unless the star reduces his wage demands.

Boss Sam Allardyce has been trying to entice Campo to the Reebok throughout the summer, but admits that the salary is the problem.

He told the club's official web site, "The problem is that we unfortunately cannot meet his personal demands. At the moment we are haggling over the terms we offered first, which we think was a fair offer. There doesn't seem anywhere else he can go, so we'll have to play the 'Call my bluff' game. If he comes on our terms, then we'll be glad to have him. But I don't think we can go any further than we have done."
