Bolton move for Real Madrid winger Figo

Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce has launched an ambitious bid to bring Real Madrid star Luis Figo to the Reebok stadium.

Allardyce has made contact with Figo's agents and is trying to arrange the sensational free transfer switch.

Portuguese Galactico Figo, 32, is keen to come to England and is interested in talking, although he will have to adjust his wages to make the move happen.

Allardyce was tipped off at the weekend that Bolton had a good chance of landing Figo, a call that made him drop his interest in Newcastle's Laurent Robert.
