Bolton boss: Hierro will be Premiership star

Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce is convinced Fernando Hierro will enjoy an outstanding first season in the Premiership.

The former Real Madrid and Spanish World Cup captain has signed a one-year deal with the Trotters after a year in Qatar.

Allardyce is now waiting for an international clearance for Hierro, but said: "He is without doubt one of the biggest names in Spanish football."

"I firmly believe he can become a star in the English game."
