Bielefeld seeks Real Madrid player

Arminia Bielefeld is set to sign midfielder Diego Leon on loan from Real Madrid, the Bundesliga club said Monday.

"We discussed the loan conditions last week, but nothing has been signed yet," Bielefeld general manager Thomas von Heesen said. "The prospects are good for a contract."

Leon plays for Real Madrid's reserve team.

Von Heesen said Bielefeld, which finished the first half of the season in 10th place after being promoted, is looking to sign two more players during the winter break - Cameroon's Jeff Bell from Swiss club FC Locarno and Thomas Magnusson of Sweden's Trelleborgs FF.
