Betis target Celades

Sevillanos Real Betis have made an offer for Real Madrid's Albert Celades according to reports in the Spanish capital on Thursday.

Betis chief Juande Ramos wants Celades onboard to organize the team's midfield next term and has contacted the player with an interesting offer.

But Celades is keen to hang on and wait for his big chance at the Bernabeu and has turned down the offer.

Real would be willing to sell the 25-year-old Andorran to ease the club's finances and cut down the squad - there are currently four players contesting the central midfield position for the new season.

Celades started Wednesday's match against Montpellier but has been given few opportunities in the side since the central midfield has been occupied by the duo, Claude Makelele and Ivan Helguera.
