Betis play down Joaquin approach by Real Madrid supremo

A Real Betis official has played down reports of a meeting between Joaquin and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez on Saturday night.

Perez was spotted in conversation with Joaquin after the 1-1 draw in Seville, but a club spokesman insisted: "The conversation lasted less than 20 seconds."

"Perez asked to see Joaquin and there was no problem. He did say 'You must join us. I want you with us'. But there was nothing to concern us."
