Bernd Schuster Advises Raul To Leave Real Madrid

He may no longer be the Real Madrid coach, but that has not stopped Bernd Schuster from issuing advice to his former players as, on a programme on the Spanish channel Cadena Cope, the German advised Raul to leave Los Blancos.

Although Raul would like to retire at Real Madrid, Schuster commented that it would be best if he left for another club, to "finish his career as he deserves" and to "continue enjoying football" in the years he has left.
"There were one or two years before I came in as coach where he was an undisputed starter and the team's leading scorer," declared Schuster, who believes that perhaps the best would be for Raul to follow in the footsteps of Emilio Butragueno and leave the Spanish giants.
"The way he takes care of himself, I think he could play perfectly well in another team, enjoying minutes and finishing his career. That is how Raul would recover the form that people would love to see, but this is something that is difficult to accept for any player."
